Providing temporary foster care for dogs belonging to families fleeing domestic violence

Home Freedom Project Volunteer Volunteers' Week

Volunteers' Week 2021

This week we are celebrating Volunteers' Week.

We would like to take the opportunity to say a huge Thank You to all of our wonderful volunteer foster carers for their dedication to caring for dogs belonging to people fleeing domestic abuse.

Since the Freedom Project launched in 2004, you have fostered 1,1747 dogs, helping 1,319 people to flee domestic abuse. So far this year, 111 dogs have been fostered on the project, helping 81 people to flee domestic abuse.

By providing a loving home for our foster dogs, you give their owners a lifeline too. The Freedom Project wouldn't exist without you.

But don't take our word for it, here are some words from survivors who have accessed our Freedom Project:

Thank you again, from the survivors and from the Freedom Project team at Dogs Trust - we are so grateful for your time and support.
